This in-person workshop is modules #6-8 of the Athletics Club Coach Course for Wheelchair Racing. It is designed for coaches who work with wheelchair athletes. It falls into the NCCP Competition Pathway.
In addition to learning advanced technical progressions for all wheelchair events, coaches will also learn age-appropriate strength training, race strategy and how to put together a seasonal training plan specific to wheelchair racing.
LOCATION, DATE & TIME: at Strathcona HS in Edmonton, Alberta on Saturday April 27th and Sunday April 28th - both from 9:00a to 6:00p
For modules #1-4 of the Athletics Club Coach Course for Endurance, coaches should take "Foundations of Coaching" prior to attending this workshop. The FOC is an online line course and it is being offered on April1st, 4th, 8th & 11th from 7:30-9:30pm.
Module #5 is called "Introduction to Long-Term Development in Athletics". It is an eLearning module located in the Locker under Athletics. It too should be taken as a prerequisite prior to attending the Club Coach Workshop for Endurance.
Members of Athletics Canada will get a $50 discount.
