I have a feeling it's being live streamed from a phone or tablet so they will probably be mobile?

Can someone explain the Joe Fast dq? And don't give me a link to the IAAF role book. I know the rule.

Granted I could see anything in the livestream, but apparently it happened in the homestretch?

I guess the Legion doesn't like provincial team athletes being beaten by athletes the didn't select.

Good thing these amateur officials are not at Worlds - or just about every athlete in every distance race would be dq'ed for "jostling."

I spoke with Kobe - the athlete who finished third - silver after the DQ. According to him, Mr Fast shoved him into the infield with about 200m to go - that may have cost Kobe the gold.

So, take off your tinfoil hat - no conspiracy here, just a good old fashion foul that the track referee called and was subsequently upheld.

The camera person must be a newbie.
    Can't focus the lens.
    Stands in the wrong position

Unfortunately, you can see nothing from the livestream, and the officials are volunteers. Sometimes we need to remember that and give them some repsect. Some are better than others, but without them, we have no meet. Not being able to see what happened, we have to respect their decision.

It's unfortunate, but, I'll contend, shove or no shove, Mr Kobe was not getting the gold! I guess we'll never know.

It was a blatant shove that you could see from anywhere in the stadium. Very stupid move by a very good runner.

Rules do stipulate the race could have been rerun minus Mr. Fast but that rarely happens. Just a DQ and everyone moves up a spot

    Thanks for the clarification.

I'm satisfied the proper decision was. Even without the shove, it was very unlikely that Kobe would have won. The kid went in ranked #7, had a 5 second PR, and came out with a silver. That's a pretty outcome.

Re replies 5,8,10,12,13,14 don't forget that midgets are only 14 or 15 years old and still learning to race.
Joe Fast is a nice kid and friendly and respectful of other athletes. He paid a high price for a moment's overexcitement yesterday, a medal at nationals.
As adults we should be celebrating, supporting and encouraging young kids like Kobe and Joe, not using internet forums to snipe at them or kick them when they're down.

Infield? I saw the race. Also it happened with about 150 to go. Joe was behind Dakota, boxed in and tried to get through a gap, that just wasn't big enough. It wasn't a "stupid" move as some have called it, just a poor calculation. It likely didn't warrant a dq, but Mr. Kobe must have a soccer background.

Any idea when the last few event results will be posted? There are several events without the final results showing.
