I have 2 many questions about race walking :(
Why is "The Walk" only a long distance race?
why no 800 or 1500?
my answer is, because they are running not walking but what do I know?
Why is there no walk in CIS?
Who was the last Canadian walker to get a D1 scholarship?
Why no XC walking?
Why no 5 peaks trail walking?
how come pro walkers do not have their own divisions at Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, NYC etc...?
When will they take their sport to the next level?
who's walking to OFSAA gold this summer?

"who's walking to OFSAA gold this summer?"
Way back in the day, the NCSSA flirted with the race walk, offering a 1500m walk for boys and girls. There was discussion about it possibly being offered at OFSAA, but that may have just been us kids discussing it and not anyone with any real power to effect change. I still have my yearbook in which my friend signed it, "Won't see you much over the summer as I will be training for the OFSAA racewalk!"
The walk was offered in my grade 12 and OAC year, but only in the NC region as far as I recall, because it was not offered at the East Region Meet. My buddy won the boy's walk, although he got beat by a girl who walked about 30 seconds faster than him over 1500. I think there were a total of 3 girls and 2 boys in the race.
Shout out to Michael Stachon! NCSSAA 1988 racewalk Champion! Quote comment

You do see a fair number of racewalkers in marathons. Usually they are competitive with weekend warrior runners, since world class in the 20k walk is less than 1:20 (WR = 1:16).Quote comment
