Windsor Athletics Fest- May 19/20
Hi everyone...please check out our website at: www.windsorathleticsfest.com to find out about a special Victoria Day weekend event happening in Windsor.
On Friday night, May 19th , starting at 5pm, we'll be hosting our 3rd Annual Night Flight Elite Pole Vault Event right downtown on Ouellette Avenue. In between the Women's & Men's Pole Vault we'll also be hosting the first annual Mission Mile, a certified 1 mile road race which goes down our Main Street and ends right at the Pole Vault venue. (slightly downhill all the way) The proceeds from this event will be donated to Windsor's Downtown Mission. The streets will be closed all evening to celebrate Windsor's 125th anniversary as an incorporated City and to welcome the opening games of the Memorial Cup hockey tournament which we are also hosting. Should be a fun night for all ages.
On Saturday, at the University's Alumni Field, we will be hosting the Johnny Loaring Classic (formerly the Windsor Open) so renamed to honour Windsor's Silver Medalist in the 400m Hurdles from the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
Cash prizes for the top 3 Males and Females are available in the following marquee events: NF Pole Vault, Mission Mile, JLC 400mHurdles, JLC 1500m
Further information is available on the website.
