"No matter how well prepared an athlete is for competition, the type of conversation they have with themselves leading up to their event could affect how well they perform. Coaches should help athlete develop positive self-talk scripts to say to themselves each day in practice, so it becomes automatic when it really counts; game time!"
Ex. "I am much stronger and faster than I was yesterday" or "I have worked hard this week to get to this point, I will improve my distance/time."
