yup. Why does it even cost anything? Year after year the AUS of all conferences has the best live stream I have ever seen and it is 100% free.

    It is the best because:
    1. back-stretch camera with seamless transitions between shot angles
    2. in screen clock (not just the track clock visible but an actual digital clock in the bottom left corner).
    3. Results immediately flash up on the screen like at the olympics and world champs
    4. Short quick interviews with event winners with a dedicated camera between events.

If the AUS can do this the rest of the country needs to get it together.

Definitely sucks, but if you're cool with catching just friday/saturday, the 10$ is for 24h from the point you purchase it. So you could tune in at 5 or 6pm (EST) friday, catch most of the evening and still have access til the end of the 4x400 on Saturday. Split that cost with a few friends. Small silver lining

What about gas for people who don't live in or near Windsor? Why would anyone FROM Windsor not go check it out live rather than watching a stream?

The payment step is HTTPS. It doesn't really matter about the other pages since you aren't entering your credit card details on those non https pages.

It has started, very poor coverage of the Hep. Supposed to be two live streams but even the field stream is on the track. Some nice infographics for the track results but 60m heats aren't the only thing going on...

Well University of Windsor back at their shenanigans again...

In the 4x200m relay, their third leg runner ran into York University's third leg runner which caused the Windsor athlete to lose his footing and ultimately resulted in the Windsor relay team not finishing the race.

Checking the start list of the 4x200m relay scheduled for Saturday, we can see that Windsor has somehow still made it into the B final without a seed time - their seed time states "NT".

Teams can now qualify for a national 4x200m final without finishing races? Without even running? Seems a little fishy to me. I thought the whole point of the prelims were to establish a time and ultimately eliminate teams that did not qualify.

8 spots for the Saturday final has now turned into 10 spots.

Who keeps bending the rules here?

Windsor's men's team also obtained third place at the OUA championships after Windsor's 4x400m disqualification was overturned. York University was bumped out of third place due to this. The officials stated that the results were not final or "official".

Really now? It was posted on Windsor Timing (the official results page for the meet) that York had obtained third place. After a lengthy discussion that Windsor's coaches had with the officials, a simple refresh of the page showed that Windsor had obtained third place instead.

Home track advantage? I don't think so. Some funny business is definitely going on here that should be investigated so these things do not occur in the future.

OK.........now that we have bitched about the live stream, and alleging cheating by U of Windsor, can we discuss the actual results ?
Good ! Women’s Pent was dominated by Quebec, going 1, 2, 3. Two point diff between gold & silver, 3,803 vs 3,801 . Amelie Auger ( Sher) won, followed by team mate Maude Leveille. Geneviève Gagne (Laval) took third.
Men’s Hep sees U of Sask in 1 & 2, Kieran Johnston leading Landon Gill, 3,029 vs 2,888.
    Men’s 60m won by Matthew Coolen (Dal) won in 8.84. Place times were good : 6.85, 6.88, 6.90, 6.90, 6.90, & 6.91. Mathew is a strong hurdler as well.
Women’s Wt throw was deep and good. Olena Olenic (Sask) won with 18.85m, with 3 others over 17m.
    I don’t particularly like the 600m, so I won’t comment.

The women's 600m has a very deep field. Camile Cato's record of 1:27.63 from 1984 might actually get broken.

The men's 600 should be a great race but no one is going to touch Byron Goodwin's record. I remember watching it live and he was absolutely flying. #1 in the world at the time (although not a lot of opportunities to run a 600 around the world as pointed out above).

In other parts of the world the 600m tends to be mostly a developmental distance for U-16 runners (sort of like the 1200m and the 2000m here in Canada). I agree it is a bit odd, in the sense of a distance that is not run as often as the 800m. But that does not mean it cannot be fun to watch. In my opinion, better suited for indoor competition than the 400m, as many 400m runners, because of their body types, have problems running the curve in the inside lanes while sharing those lanes with other athletes.

In any case, all distances are arbitrary: there are no natural distances, no matter what the advocates of the mile may want to say, and no right or wrong distances.

Not really the case this year. Tyler ran the 600 prelims yesterday and the 1k today and Tim was in the 1k today as well. They were no more fresh than anyone else in that field this year. Hats off to Guelph though for a great win, especially considering they didnt use Land

I don’t think that is entirely fair. They did win the 4x800 last year. They have now won thepast two 1500m (second the two years prior) and have done well in the 1000m and 600m (600m gold in 2014 and 2015, Riva seemed to always be up there in the 1k even winning one year?). But I do agree... maybe some crappy team tactics lead to arguably poor results in the relay?
