Citizenship Requirements for Athletes:
To prove Canadian Citizenship, Wrestling Canada Lutte will accept one (1) of the following:
1 - Copy of Current passport
2 - Birth Certificate & Government Issued photo ID
3 - Permanent Resident Card
Please be aware that in order to be eligible (to qualify) to compete in the Cadet Team Trials (Men’s Freestyle & Women), you must compete in the current Canadian Championships and you must:
1 – Place top 3 as a U17 at the 2019 U17 Canadian Championships; OR
2 – Place top 5 as a 17-year-old (born in 2002) at the 2019 U19 Canadian Championships OR if you are a 17-year-old (born in 2002) that is directly eliminated (i.e. second loss of the tournament) by an 18-year-old (born in 2001) that places in the top 5.
As part of WCL’s commitment to Safe Sport, all support staff (coaches, team managers, team medical, officials) will be required to provide proof of screening NO LATER than March 22nd, 2019, to receive accreditation. Acceptable screening includes:
1 – Vulnerable Sector Check for Minors* (VSC) issued within 6 months of the event. A hard copy must be provided to the National Office.
OR
2 – Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC) issued within 6 months of the event. Please be sure to share your results with Wrestling Canada Lutte. More information to follow in January.
*Please note that if a VSC is not provided in 2019, all support staff (coaches, team managers, team medical, officials) will be required to provide a VSC for Minors, starting 2020
