ASEA RUN JUMP THROW

Athletisme Sud-Est / South-East Athletics, ASEA, is proud to announce the 19th year we are offering our Run Jump Throw Program.

ASEA has been the track and field club in the Greater Moncton area for more the last 45 years. During that time ASEA has put athletes on 14 national teams and won over 123 national medals, while at the same time creating a Run Jump Throw program to introduce new potential track stars to this wonderful sport in a fun and spirited program. Many of our RJT athletes have then progressed through our older programs as they gained experience in track and field.

Run Jump Throw is a nationally recognized program that helps children, through age-appropriate activities, experience the wonderful sport of track and field (Athletics).

ASEA will have trained and experienced instructors to guide the children. The club will offer three RJT sessions in the next year. Each practice will be composed of fourteen 60-minute practices. You can save by registering for all three at once. The three sessions will begin in November, February and June.

Ages: 6 – 11 years

Time: Tuesdays 5:00- 6:00pm & Thursdays 5:00 - 6:00pm

Dates: The third RJT session starts Thursday June 22 and ends Tuesday August 8. There will be 14 one hour sessions.

Practices will be on the following dates:

June 22, 27, 29

July 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27

August 1, 3, 8

August 10 will be a replacement if we have to cancel another day.

Location: Both days will be at the Croix Bleue Medavie Blue Cross Stadium on the UdeM campus. It is located directly begins the CEPS building. One of the instructors will meet the children at one of the gates to the stadium. Parents are welcome to have a seat in the main grandstand to watch the practice.

Program: During these 14 sessions trained instructors will use games, relays and more to introduce the athlete to the variety of running, jumping and throwing events with track and field. All children will also receive a dry fit t-shirt.

The athletes will be divided into two training groups, ages

6-8, and ages 9-11 for the session.

Children need sneakers, appropriate clothing for exercise and a water bottle.

Competition: For those who are interested in competing there will be a few age-appropriate events at competitions. These will be at the Moncton Stadium and the Saint John Track.

Registration: The registration will be through trackie.com. at https://legacy.trackie.com/online-registration/event/asea-run-jump-throw-2023/484150/ .

The cost will be $125.00 as well as a $5.00 fee that goes to Athletics New Brunswick, ANB, our Provincial association.

If you have signed up for one or both of the first two sessions and now will sign up for the third session, you will not need to pay th ANB fee.

If you are going to have 3 more members of the same family registering with ASEA for the 2022-2023 season, please contact Peter. There will be a family plan. This includes all family members in all our programs (RJT, athlete development or masters).

We are using an athlete/instructor ratio so there will be a cap on registration numbers.
