Risk and Indemnity
I acknowledge that the sport of inline speed skating is an extreme test of a person’s physical and mental limits and carries with it the potential for death, serious injury and property loss. There are both known and unanticipated risks. The known risks include but are not limited to those caused by the challenges inherent in competitive athletic training, by terrain, shared road use with vehicular traffic, facilities, weather, the physical and mental condition of athletes including my own physical and mental condition, my acts or omissions or failure to act, first aid, emergency treatment or other services rendered, consumption of food or drink, lack of hydration, vehicular traffic and actions of other people including but not limited to participants, volunteers, officials and spectators. I understand clearly that by signing this release, I will be forever prevented from suing or otherwise claiming against Roller Sports Canada, The Speedy Kids Oval Program Society, or Speed Skate Nova Scotia, their officers, employees or volunteers for any loss or damage connected with any property loss or personal injury that I sustain while participating in or preparing for any skating activity, whether or not such loss or injury is caused solely or partly by the negligence of Roller Sports Canada or The Speedy Kids Oval Program Society, their officers, employees or volunteers.
