In the unlikely event that both Staffords run 3 events, how many medals can they combine for (600/1000/1500/3000/4x4/4x8)? I put the over under at 4.5, with 4 golds....

Read the OUA / U sports rules for entries. Anyone on an eligibility list can be in the rankings. Not everyone can compete at the championships.

She’s also done indoors because of a sore achilles.

5.6 To be eligible to participate in the OUA track and field championships, an athlete must participate in a minimum
of 2 OUA sanctioned events in the current competitive season. OUA sanctioned events include any event where
two or more Universities or Athletics Canada clubs participate. One of the events must be in Canada.

Looks like that takes Branna MacDougall out as well.

Other schools can sleep safe this year. Stafford the elder still had one year of eligibility but is already done her indoor season and is building for outdoors.

Stafford the younger is taking it easy for indoors and is structuring her year with FISU/having a crack at maybe making Doha. Indoors aren't her priority - we may see her only in one individual race (and that probs won't be the 1500 I'd say say given the furthest she's done has been 1000).

Younger Stafford got her thyroid removed in the fall I believe which also factors in to why she’s taking it easier indoors as well. It’s too bad we won’t see these two sisters back in full form at USports together but I’m sure we’ll see it outdoors soon enough! Best of luck to everyone at OUAs this weekend!

Help me understand this: So there are 3 timed finals in the 1500. Does this mean the fastest time wins? If someone in the second heat runs faster than the winner of the third heat due to tactics, the person in the second heat would be the OUA champion?

Super annoyed that the OUA stream is free, but you have to pay if you want to watch CANWEST. what a joke.

Yes? What’s so difficult to understand about this? Unless you want the athletes to run a semis and then a finals and add an extra race to the weekend where they are most likely running the 1000 or 3000, or 4x800 on top of this

what does this even mean? Older Stafford isn’t racing due to an Achilles injury and younger Stafford is still running 3 events just 1 individual because her thyroid got removed... seems smart to me?
