CanWest Recap

First and foremost I'd like to congratulate the dinos for absolutely torching the competition and I look forward to seeing Pennock and Travaglini holding it down in the masters division in a couple of years. U of A completed the 1-2 Alberta sweep led by their own pair of oldies who kept their eligibility under their beds in a jar until they saw some grey hair coming in. UBC brought out the "never heard of em" squad and actually didn't do that bad considering that they were looking so far down their roster for healthy runners that they almost brought back CJ to run. I'd still take half the women's team to throw down a 10k before I gave one the Miller twins a shot to do anything off the track. Dozzi called it early so he'll be fresh to run his only decent race of the year at acxc which seems to be a pattern for him @myonlyotherpost. The best thing about UVIC's team this year is Hoff's hair which almost weighed em down as much those 8-inch biceps he's been hittin the creatine for. King of the weight room, not of the cross course. Not surprising that a bunch of guys whos last name's look like alphabet soup couldn't crack the top 3 (@Kozelj, Hezewijk, Goerzen, Farlinger). Regina had the rookie of the year and got the record for most unnecessary headgear worn by a team, seriously boys if you need a toque to race 10k you're not given er 110%. Next up we had a tight battle for 6th between Trinity "Nick Colyn and the Nick Colynettes" Western and Manitoba, featuring big Kosmenko, who at 29 years of age could easily be the father of the majority of the Trinity roster. I'm not goin after any of the other teams because they've clearly been through enough lately. That's it, go at it this post is trash for a reason let's get the chirps going on the West Coast

Hard to read to deep into a conference meet that meant little to most teams. Calgary mens and UBC womens are looking good though. I think the top 10 men in Canada west are all worthy of a top 20 spot at the big dance.

Have we finally eclipsed the OUA in quality (but probably not depth??)? Canwest is looking strong this year!

6 in the top 10 last year. Depth in the conference looks pretty similar if not better

With the exception of Desgagnes, the west could score 6 or 7 in the top 10 this year. Daniel Lumb James Traveglini Colyn and Pennock all can go to top 10, perhaps higher. A ton of firepower in the West.

possible... that was the result last year

And 6/10 of the top 10 was Canwest last year?

“Always” is a bit off an overstatement, only one of those 6 graduated

two graduated. But Lumb and/or Travaglini and/or James should be more than equipped to take their places.

let’s shoot for 9/10 and JSD. Get some golden bears in there #BERTA!
Would be a sight to see the population base of Canada shut out. What is happening with Ontario running?

Guelph has undoubtedly had the best and most consistent program in the last decade or so and no disprespect to their current roster, but don’t see them beating the front runners that are coming from the West. Let’s compare notes after the weekend.

How can you say that with such certainty when you lack any basic knowledge of rice farming or agriculture in general?

I'll honestly be shocked if there are more OUA guys top 10 than Canwest this year.
Here are the 5 +1 I think will be top 10 (in no particular order)
Lumb, Pennock, Daniels, Travaglini, Colyn + James if healthy.

throw in JSD from RESQ and only 4 sports left for the Center of the Universe
