dear Gripped Publishing

You should have rolled with Benny F on the cover instead of JK and I'm not "jk" :)

So considering you guys only put a male on the cover once or twice a year, will BF make it in 2019?

Is this true? It would be interesting to add up how their covers break down female to male.

Searching for a place where I could find all their covers, all I could find was this article from 2015: https://runningmagazine.ca/sections/runs-races/canadian-running-covers-of-2015/

    The stats are as follows:
Total # of people featured: 8
    People of colour: 0
    Male:1
    Elite Athletes:5

Thanks. Would be great to get a larger sample size and see where the #s of males and people of colour end up.

I've seen Justin Knight and Phylicia George on the cover. But it is usually women...not sure why. Good articles but the covers could be better. I like the articles about high school runners and places to run in Canada.

So Phylicia George doesn't identify as a woman? 2019 has found her! AHH!

Since March 2012, my quick count of the magazine covers in my Canadian Running app yields 41 female covers and 7 male ones. So, nearly 6:1 female to male. Doesn’t appear to have changed much over the years.

A much greater proportion of the female covers appear to be models rather than elites, but not sure I’d recognize all elites well enough for an adequately accurate count there.

Want to attract a male reader? Put an attractive woman on the cover.

Obviously, the models don’t do it for free.
