Kamloops 2800m

So another very interesting race escalated this evening in beautiful Kamloops, British Columbia. The officials had some issues with counting and rang the bell when the runners actually had 200m left. Sounds familiar right. Many runners were very confused and stopped at 2800m as they thought the race was over but then were told by athletes around the track they had another left. Some runners didn’t even bother to finish the race.

So the reason for posting this. I am proposing we change the USPORTS 3000m to a 2800m. Seems like this continues to happen.

Maybe I'm a little slow today (insert your Anonymous joke here), but aren't they supposed to ring the bell with 200m to go when on a 200m track? I admit surprise if the bell rule is a 400m to go rule, indoors or out.

No UW open this year and Classic fields were deeper than other years

I'm still hoping that, after being immersed in this sport for about 45 years now, someone can explain to me how I completely missed the boat on bell ringing on THE LAST LAP, no matter how large or small the track is.

    Educate me, Trackie.

    Clearly, I am still learning.
