Mary Cain runs USATF National Club XC Champs

In the women's 6k open race, Mary was in 13th at the 3.5k mark. She ended up dropping down to 33rd with a time of 21:11.

Any thoughts?

This is a pretty weak event that is not entered by many. . It is not the USATF XC championships. Those are in late January.

There were 406 finishers in the women's race, with some elite clubs participating. This includes HOKA Aggie Running Club, Nomad Track Club and Hansons-Brooks Distance Project. Not to mention Tinman Elite competing in the mens race.

It’s not a strong event. Shear numbers means nothing you are forgetting the US has 330,000,000 people.

Watch the US XC Championships in January and compare the entrants and results

Agreed. It isn't the strongest event, but it definitly isn't the weekest and Tuohy shouldn't be discredited.
