U-Sports Community 5k

If you're coming down to watch the U-Sports action on the hill this Saturday, why not run the Community 5k first? It'll help keep you warm, if nothing else! You can register on Trackie.reg. Event name is U-Sports Community 5k. Start time is 12:00.

We already have Tokyo Olympic marathon aspirant and Canadian Masters Marathon Record Holder Lyndsay Tessier on the list, along with Gaels legend Julie-Anne Staehli. (They'll be working out, so maybe you can keep up with them!).

Dylan O'Sullivan Stats for those who dont know, because this guy is making a return to the elite level:

career bests include a low 31 min 6 6 60, a 10:50 beer mile after 8 tallboys all within 4hrs, a sub 40min trail loop to/from aberdeen ON AN "EASY" RUN, a 3min final km down earl st, outkicked mitchell kirby at the end of an easy run (lone man to ever do this), also won a workout 2 summers ago beating some queens guys, completed 100 beers and 100 miles in a week, 14:21 for 5, 8:22 for 3, both indoors, but he's twice as good outdoors and has run a 15:46 xc on the fort, impressive to say the least.

Word has gotten around this guy is so tapered he will without a doubt win. I believe it. He is a an anaerobic monster. Dont be deceived by his dad bod. Erran Morad said it best....."They dont stand a chance".

I will put money on this guy running maybe under 20 min and still grabbing the w.

According to my sources (98.7% Truthbrary verified) Dylder O'Lucky Charms Sullivian has been covertly training under a deep state secret CIA endurance program with the Illuminati and has been hitting 120 miles a week hammering 45 minute 3:00 k tempos, and is quote "ready to disrespect the field more than a Mormon going to work on Sunday"

For those of us who wish fitness held over longer than it does, I feel like this makes the race more unappealing...

Joking aside, it sounds like a fun time (words I will regret 2km in if I participate).

Judging by this thread we're going to need some last minute training to take down the mighty O'Sullivan, so I'm in for a little 'pre-community race' workout!

You failed to mention his incredible record attempt at the 2017 Sydenham Trail run where he heroically defeated 5 time All-Canadian Julie Anne Staehli by over 30 seconds!

This doesn't even take into account his awe-inspiring 6 6 60 on Canada Day this year in which he wrecked the talented former Queen's Runner Klay Patterson in over 40 degree heat, with beers that were at room temperature! Wow!

You say start time is 12:00? Are you sure? Schedule on Athletics Canada website says
9:00am. Please clarify. That is a big difference. Thanks in advance

He says noon start time because the Community race at USPORTS DID start at noon. If you’re referring to the Community Race at Nationals, which Steve wasn’t, then you are correct... it starts at 9:00! Hope yo see you up there. Good luck!
