Looks like a pretty deep 3k field for the men. A few individuals surrounded by St. Francis Xavier. People don't realize the potential for good races after xc. Barring staleness, I would encourage any cross athlete to close their seasons with a 3k in an effort to PB.

Except for the fact that every athlete in the field who actually had a cross season (maybe with the exception of Kuto) ran well below their potential. Not sure I agree with you.

What is Evangeline? Is it a track club or school? Never heard it of it. If that runner is a high schooler he will be well sought after in the next few months.

Yeah, that runner is only a 9th grader from Evangeline. He's pretty much the fattest kid around. So yeah, expect that runner to be getting a full ride.

I agree with your comment in principle, but the key part of it is "barring staleness". Most athletes have a hard time making it to their conference champs without feeling a little worn out. After four weeks with two championship 10k races, "staleness" is not an uncommon result. Guelph sat most of their CIS runners out for the Zoltan Tenke and those who ran under-performed. Bottom line, I think participation at such a meet should be up to the athlete depending on primarily how their body feels and also considering the amount they raced during the season.

re: 3k men's race, we ended up racing all of them (15) together on the 200m indoor track. It was very exciting to watch. It was also the last race of the day and the atmosphere was awesome.

Great calibre. Kuto and Donald looked very strong up front. Broke away from the field early.
