    Not at all true. The men's 3000m was managed disgracefully. Myself and my teammate ran PB times which ANS 'forgot to stop the clock' for. They then inputted the hand timed back ups as 'mt' as opposed to 'ht'. Right now the times are not included on the rankings.

    ANS is generally a disaster. Almost always behind schedule, and then they pull stuff like this.

    We are awaiting the photos taken by the Dal photographer. They will be posted to our Facebook page as soon as we receive them.

    Hi Cal, Thanks for your note. We were aware of the issue with the 3000m race and we tried to rectify the situation at the time as best as we could. Our photo finish timer officials work extremely hard to ensure the best possible meet. Sometimes, technology/human errors occur. For that we do apologize. We can look into the results and have them updated with Athletics Canada to ensure it shows up in the rankings. Give us a few days to do this. Yesterday we did fall behind at the beginning of the track meets due to the high jump going longer than expected. We have to work with the facility constraints we face. We then caught and then fell behind and then caught up. Most meets everywhere have ebbs and flows and the sheer number of entries on the track reduced from 6 lanes to 5 (to accommodate the horizontal jumps) was a new challenge. We were very happy with the high number of registrations and try our best to always run a high quality meet.

    I understand that issues of human error/technology malfunctions do occur. I also recognize that yesterday was the largest Atlantic Canadian track meet in recent memory, and that this increases the risk of error. I appreciate the work the volunteers put in, and I'm sorry for the original comment -- it was overly harsh.

    I hope you understand the frustration my teammate and I felt, though, after our hard-fought PBs did not appear in the results page. If you can rectify the situation with AC it would be much appreciated.

    Quick takes;

    1 - It's encouraging for Atlantic Canada to have such a great turnout at an indoor event like this. There was great depth from what I saw with guys like Corbit, Cal, Russell, Rawling, Cyr, McNeil, Gorman et al. There's a depth of talent there we haven't had in years.

    2 - It's for sure tough to stay on schedule when you have a huge meet like that and I'm sure Athletics NS did work super hard keeping things going. I know from personal experience helping out with TrackFest and our Provincial meets that it's the hard work of the volunteers that makes it possible so good on you guys for putting your best foot forward.

    3 - When guys are going for CIS Autos or running for fast times like that 1000m and 3k, they really need to be made a priority as it's not like you can just crank those out on the weekly. Sub 2:30 1000s and Sub 8:30 3km's are solid times which you don't see all that often outside of big meets in Ontario and Quebec.

    4 - Cal is a classy dude and has rightfully earned the nick name hotwheels.

    Now, if you'll excuse me I've got 4 feet of snow to shovel here in good old' St. John's! :p

    Believe me man I'd love to, when is the next one and is it on a 200m flat track? I'm going to run a 3k and 1500m locally, just time trial in one of our indoor meets then look to do a 3k or 5k in your guys neck of the woods or Quebec. With that said however, if I'd have raced the boys last weekend I'd have been MURKED. (Even at the fittest I've ever been I wasn't in 8:26/8 3k shape, I may have been close when I ran a 24:07 8k, but I doubt it, more strength then speed). I'm in the same place currently fitness wise as when I ran 8:44 in 2015 solo, about a month back into training after eating all the food and drinking all the craft beer in St. John's during the holidays ha)

    Anyway, it's not about this plug, way to go fellas, y'all ran stellar and are redonkulously fit!! Way to represent the east coast. And good job Athletics NS on getting those times into the rankings!

    Things I want to see next;

    Russell and Cyr in a spicy 1500 at the Ottawa dome 3:45-50 pace from the gun.
    Cal and Rawling in a sub 14:30 5000m type race also on the 400m indoor oval

    Besides the McGill meet this weekend in Montreal, which will be fast as hell, the next one is Feb.11 in Halifax.
