How does the timing system have Cherop ahead by 0.04 seconds here? She was clearly behind at the timing mats wasn't she? I wasn't even sure that her foot even crossed the timing mat.

The race can hopefully learn from this and have a better chute next year. Sado comes around the last corner on the inside and is hugging the curb, then 10m before the finish, there is a barrier forcing her to move towards the middle of the road. Coming off that final corner there should be fence on both sides that continues right to the finish line, rather than an abrupt change.

"Is her chip on her bib? not her foot."
Does it matter? Is there any way her bib could have crossed the line first? Quote comment -

It doesn't matter what chip time is. When it comes to placing the clock time is what matters and who crosses first.

It's obvious that Sado crossing the finishing line first. Are they going to change these official results? I assume Sado or Sado's coach MUST have complained?

Did they not call it a tie and award both the cash for 2nd place?

If one athlete crossed the finish line before the other, why would it be called a tie?

Race results don't show any indication anyone has called it a tie:

Cheprop looked like a football player trying to run off/bring down an opponent as they ran into the endzone. If that had been a track race, she probably would've been DQd.

Where does it say Cherop by 0.04? I have checked the race website and their times are identical although it doesn't have them to hundredths of a second. On sportstats it says they were both 2nd. At the awards ceremony they announced they were still reviewing the footage to see who was 2nd & who was 3rd.

In fact the link you provided does indicate a tie, look at the "place" column, they both say 2 Quote comment -
