Renonciations
Understanding of Additional Costs:
I am aware that, in addition to those listed on the previous page, there are additional costs associated with participation in Thorold Elite Track Club in order to fully benefit from the program. These extras include but are not limited to:
* Meet entry fees (vary depending on the meet and could be between $10-35 per event)
* Team/group bonding activities (example: Clifton Hill, Movie Nights, etc. – optional)
* Travel/accommodations/food for “away” meets
* Additional team spirit wear (optional)
* Any training camps or clinics (optional, at the discretion of coaches)
* Additional strength training programs or specialized coaching
* Pole Vault Athletes only: Additional fee
* March Break Training Camp (optional)
Refund Policy:
I am aware that, once registration has been submitted, no refunds will be given at any time and for any reason. If I choose to stop participation in the program or to not finish out my membership this will result in forfeiting all fees paid. This includes if you are unable to attend practice due to other activities or sports, including but not limited to school sports or other team sports, or any other unforeseen circumstances.
Commitment to Club and Fundraising:
To create a successful track & field club/team requires commitment, cooperation, and teamwork from all involved in the program: athletes, parents, and coaches. Everyone has to do their part. I commit to assisting and supporting club events and fundraisers. This may include volunteering at meets that are run by the club.
It does not mean that you need to be involved at every single event or initiative (that's why there are many throughout the year); however, it is mandatory that every family support the two big fundraisers below.
SUMMER BBQ - Wednesday July 16 or 23 @ Firemen's Park in Niagara Falls (TO BE CONFIRMED)
FALL PASTA NIGHT - Friday November 14 or 21 (TO BE CONFIRMED) @ Location To Be Confirmed
Commitment to Seek Funding if Needed:
I am aware that there is funding available through the following organizations and I will access these resources if needed in order to complete the necessary payments in a timely manner.
- JumpStart (up to $300 per activity and up to $600 per year): https://jumpstart.canadiantire...

Outside Training/ Coach Tampering Clause:
I have reviewed the Thorold Elite Athlete Code of Conduct and Expectations.
https://drive.google.com/file/...
https://drive.google.com/file/...
Thorold Elite is one of Ontario's only full-service track and field club that provides high quality training and competition opportunities for all events and all ages and to meet the needs of all athletes. We have an exceptional and highly qualified team of volunteer coaches who are vetted by Athletics Ontario, abide by AO and club policies, and are consistently growing and developing their own professional knowledge.
Training with coaches outside of the club in *track and field events* [this does not include other sports or activities], especially without open and transparent communication, is in violation of our code of conduct and athlete expectations. In addition, if any other outside coach approaches you or attempts to encourage you to train with them separate from the club this is also a violation of AO policy, club policy, and coach's code of ethics. Sometimes coaches will also employ other athletes to try to sway you to train with them instead. Any of this type of behaviour is of great concern and has been problematic within our community in the last 2-3 years. This is considered TAMPERING and is to be reported immediately to Coach Fife and our Board of Directors at thoroldelitetc@gmail.com.
There may be exceptional circumstances where the club will support, condone, or even promote or seek out assistance from other qualified coaches but this must be discussed and approved by the club, and the coach must be approved/ supported by the club. Otherwise it is a liability/ risk and also reflects poorly on the club. We are asking for the initial courtesy of communication and discussion.
Permission to Treat:
Your son/daughter has chosen to participate in an athletic Program and this may involve vigorous physical activity. In case of injury, it may be necessary to seek medical or treatment for your son/daughter. This may also include seeking the advice or care of an athletic trainer or physical therapist. By signing below, I hereby grant permission for the Thorold Elite Track Club coaches and/or staff to authorize appropriate emergency medical care or treatment for my son/daughter.
Membership Agreement / Release / Waiver:
FINAL RELEASE/ WAIVER/ INDEMNITY:
I hereby consent to my son/daughter’s full participation in the Thorold Elite Track & Field Club during the 2025 year, including opportunities for practice/training and competition both indoors and outdoors, and I knowingly and willfully accept all risks inherent with participation in the sport of track and field. I hereby release/discharge/indemnify the Thorold Elite Track Club and all coaches, volunteers, members, or representative from any and all liability, damages, losses, or injuries, however caused. I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agreed to this waiver.
By signing below, I grant the registrar for Thorold Elite Track Club permission to enter my son/daughter in meets and to complete blanket waivers required by Athletics Ontario. I acknowledge that I am responsible for covering the meet entry fees.
