2026 MTA Outdoor Championships

Participant Waiver, Release of Liability, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement

Event: 2026 MTA Outdoor Championships
Dates: July 18–19, 2026
Location: Terry Fox Stadium, Brampton, Ontario
Host: Brampton Racers Track Club

This Agreement must be accepted online by the participant's parent/legal guardian or by the participant's registered coach acting with the authorization of the participant's parent/legal guardian.

Assumption of Risk

Participation in track and field activities involves inherent risks, dangers, and hazards that may result in serious injury, illness, permanent disability, property damage, or death.

These risks include, but are not limited to:

• Running, sprinting, distance running, hurdling, race walking, jumping, throwing, relays, and warm-up activities;
• Falls, trips, slips, collisions, and contact with other participants, officials, volunteers, equipment, or facilities;
• Equipment malfunction or failure;
• Weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, lightning, and poor air quality;
• Physical exertion, dehydration, fatigue, and medical emergencies;
• Travel within event venues and competition areas;
• The actions, omissions, or negligence of other participants, coaches, officials, volunteers, spectators, or event personnel.

By accepting this Agreement, I acknowledge that I understand these risks and voluntarily assume all risks associated with the participant's attendance and participation in the 2026 MTA Outdoor Championships.

Release of Liability

In consideration of the participant being permitted to attend and participate in the 2026 MTA Outdoor Championships, I hereby release, waive, and forever discharge:

• Minor Track Association of Ontario (MTA);
• Athletics Ontario;
• Brampton Racers Track Club;
• Terry Fox Stadium;
• The City of Brampton;
• Their respective directors, officers, employees, officials, volunteers, coaches, agents, contractors, sponsors, representatives, successors, and assigns;

(collectively referred to as the "Released Parties")

from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or liabilities of any kind arising from or relating to the participant's attendance at or participation in the Event, including claims arising from the negligence of the Released Parties, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Indemnity

I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, damages, losses, costs, expenses, and legal fees arising directly or indirectly from:

• The participant's attendance at or participation in the Event;
• Any act or omission of the participant;
• Any breach of this Agreement;
• Any claim brought by or on behalf of the participant or any third party relating to the participant's attendance or participation in the Event.

This indemnity shall survive the completion of the Event.

Medical Authorization

I authorize event organizers, medical personnel, emergency responders, and healthcare providers to obtain and administer emergency medical treatment for the participant if deemed necessary during the Event.

I understand that reasonable efforts will be made to contact the participant's parent/legal guardian or emergency contact, but emergency treatment may be provided before such contact is established.

I accept responsibility for any medical, ambulance, hospital, or related costs incurred on behalf of the participant.

Media Release

I grant permission to MTA, Athletics Ontario, and Brampton Racers Track Club to photograph, record, livestream, and otherwise capture the participant's image, likeness, voice, name, and competition results during the Event.

I understand and agree that such materials may be used for event administration, promotional, educational, archival, website, social media, and other legitimate sport-related purposes without compensation.

Acknowledgement and Acceptance

By selecting the acceptance checkbox during online registration, I confirm that:

• I am either the participant's parent/legal guardian or a registered coach authorized by the participant's parent/legal guardian to complete registration on the participant's behalf;
• I have read and understood this Agreement in its entirety;
• I understand that I am giving up certain legal rights on behalf of myself and/or the participant;
• I voluntarily agree to all terms and conditions contained herein;
• My electronic acceptance is intended to be binding and shall have the same force and effect as a handwritten signature.
