We first talked to Mel Myrand a couple of years ago after her big breakthrough at the 2017 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, and I can't help but think of how things have changed in the event since then. We've seen a new Canadian record put in place, the depth of the event seems to have exploded, with more promise still to come. With that being said, Melanie has adapted and improved along with those event changes, and continued her trend towards faster times at the Rotterdam Marathon last week, setting a new PB of 2:33:17. We caught up with her earlier this week to reflect on the experience and chat about changes, preparation, and what the future holds for her.
