NLAA School Affiliation - 2026/2027

Throughout the school year, the Newfoundland and Labrador Athletics Association (NLAA) and its Member Clubs host a variety of cross‑country, track and field, and road running events. To participate, students must either be registered NLAA members or purchase a One‑Day Permit.

To support and grow school‑based athletics, NLAA offers several events exclusively for schools, where school grade levels determine competition categories.

Students from non‑affiliated schools may participate in most school competitions and are eligible for individual awards. However, TrackFest is restricted to NLAA‑affiliated schools only.

Waiver

By submitting an application for NLAA School Affiliation for the 2026–2027 school year, the school agrees to abide by the constitution, rules, and bylaws of the Newfoundland and Labrador Athletics Association and Athletics Canada.

• Annual School Affiliation Fee: $35. Valid September–June; renewed annually.
• Event Day‑Permit Fee: $1. Applies only to students from non‑affiliated schools participating in NLAA school events.
• NLAA Regular Sanctioned Events: Students must either hold a full NLAA membership or purchase a One‑Day Permit ($5).

Please note: Affiliation fees and event registration fees are separate payments.

Benefits apply only to NLAA school‑designated meets. Affiliation must be completed prior to the event. Schools cannot retroactively claim team points or discounts.

1. Day‑Permit Fees Waived

Affiliated schools and their students can enter their School Code under Member ID during registration to waive the $1 Day Permit Fee. Please note: No refunds or credits will be issued if the School Code is not entered at the time of registration.

2. Stay Connected

Affiliated schools receive NLAA email communications, ensuring they remain informed about upcoming events, deadlines, and program updates.

3. Team Competition Eligibility

Only affiliated schools may:

• Enter school teams in competition
• Earn team awards
• Participate in relay events
