Riversdale Athletics Club programs – 2026/2027

In addition to the Riversdale Club Fees, Hub city fee, and a fundraising fee, all members must become Sask Athletics members. 

All Riversdale members need to purchase the required Sask Athletics/Athletics Canada membership.
This membership is necessary to have in order to train with the club and to register for competitions (track or cross country meets).  This membership will become available in October, 2026.  The link to register is:

Additional Fees:

Athletics Canada/Sask Athletics:     U12 - $65;  U14 - $75;  U16 - $90;  U18, U20, Senior, Masters - $105


Hub City Fee
- $20/person (applies to all members of Saskatoon track clubs; covers equipment and other facility costs). Full season registrants only.

Fundraising Fee
- $200/family;  $100 out of town members;  These fees can be earned back through fundraising opportunities.

                                   

 Added Value Options:

Seminars (i.e., strength training, mental skills, nutrition, sleep and recovery, concussion management,         water running) will be offered throughout the year to members - no charge

Strength Training Program - offered through Craven Sport Services

                                   Riversdale supervised group sessions with a qualified strength & conditioning coach

                                   Once or Twice per week: Mon/Wed;  - out of town athletes can arrange 1/month training                                                                                                                 with the group

                                  Fees will be based on the numbers interested- U16 and older


PROGRAMS:

Cross Country Program 

U16 and older (born 2011 and earlier). Ages are determined as of Dec. 31, 2026

Registration Options:  If you register for the Full Season, cross country is included.  No extra fee is required.                If you wish to register for cross country only, the cost is $100 plus a Sask Athletics membership (to be purchased in Oct.).  If you decide to register for another session, this $100 will be returned in Jan., 2027.

Days:  Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (some Saturdays); If you are registering for the Full season as a U16 training 2X/wk, you can choose the 2 days that you attend practice.

Practice Times:  4:30 - 6:30pm

Training Venues:  Training takes place in Saskatoon parks (i.e., Gabriel Dumont, Diefenbaker, behind Lakewood Centre)

- an email will be sent to members on Sat. or Sun. each week with the schedule and On Your Own (OYO) runs for the upcoming week.

Junior Development Program

(born 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017) (2018 accepted on an individual basis).  Ages are determined as of Dec. 31, 2027

General Information:

Days:  Tuesdays & Thursdays - participants can choose one or both days

Events: participants will be exposed to proper technique and developmentally appropriate training in: sprints, mid-distance, hurdles, jumps, throws

Registration Options – full season or 1 or more sessions (i.e., fall, winter, spring)

Full Season

Dates: Sept. 29/Oct 1, 2026 (base training start) through to June 22/24, 2027

Club Fees: $360 per year for 1X/wk;   $630 per year for 2X/wk

Training begins in outdoor parks in Saskatoon and moves to the Fieldhouse on Nov. 3.  When the snow is gone, training moves to the Gordie Howe Track Complex (Dudley Street).

Fall Session Only (held in outdoor parks and moves to the Fieldhouse on November 3)

Dates: Sept. 29/Oct. 1 (base training start) to Dec. 15/17, 2026 

Times: Tues/Thurs 4:30 – 6:00pm for base training; Training moves indoors (Saskatoon Fieldhouse) on Nov. 3/5 and time changes to 5:00 – 6:30pm

Club Fees: $200 once per week; $315 twice per week

Winter Session Only (held at the Saskatoon Fieldhouse)

Dates: Jan. 5 – Apr. 29, 2027

Times: Tues/Thurs 5:00 – 6:30pm

Club Fees: $225 once per week; $350 twice per week

Spring/Summer Session Only (held at Gordie Howe Track)

Dates: May 4 – June 24, 2025

Times: Tues/Thurs 5:00 – 6:30pm

Club Fees: $200 once per week; $315 twice per week



Under 16 (U16) Program

(born 2013 – 2012) Ages are determined as of Dec. 31, 2027

Registration Options

  • you will be asked to register for Sprints/Jumps/Hurdles OR Mid-Distance, however, athletes can train in both areas. Speak to coaches to arrange.

Sprints/Jumps/Hurdles (Throws & Pole Vault days TBD)

Dates: Sept 21, 2026 – Aug. 6, 2027

4:30 – 6:30pm Mon/Wed/Fri (some Saturdays, TBD); 2x/wk option is also available (fee reduction shown when registering).  Times move to 4:45 - 6:45pm in May.

Base training starts Sept 21. Training takes place on Monday and Friday for the first two weeks and then transitions to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during the middle of October. Practice locations will vary between Gabriel Dumont Park, Soccer fields near Griffiths, and other locations. Weekly updates will cover practice locations. Training moves indoors (Saskatoon Fieldhouse) on November 2.

Club Fees: 3X/wk - $745;     2x/wk - $665
