"Go Branna!"
She looks to be very fit after running 9:20 at the Ottawa Dome a couple of weeks ago. Covered her last K in 3:01 - 3:02. Scary fit. Quote comment -

"Ehab is now running for Toronto West Athletics."
And Evan for Speed River, no? Maybe it was listed as whatever Club they had been training with for the XC Nationals and season. Does anyone know? Quote comment -

Good luck to all of the athletes! Nice to see Durham region so well represented too - good luck Evan, Hiley and Riley!

Danielle Jossinet is also running with speed river now! I do believe they listed the coach/club based on what team they represented during Nationals in November.
Evan is new to speed river as well, speed river tweeted him after his 8km run in Waterloo Quote comment -

What is Speed River recruiting Durham Dragons now? Quote comment -

Jossinet is a rookie at Guelph so it makes sense for her to run with them now, and Durham doesn't exactly have a senior athlete program. Their coaches focus basically up to gr 12.
Esselink probably wanted training partners, thus the move to Speed River. Quote comment -

I don't know much about XC since I think Track is way more exciting but isn't 4k a short distance for a XC race? Also why do the Hombres and Mujeres race different distances U18 and U20 but then the same distance (10K) in the "mayores" races? I'm either so dumb or just very confused about this whole XC thing. Track really is so much better!

And Danielle Jossinet!
Although she is now with Guelph University / Speed River she is is still a Durham Dragon at heart!

Evan was with Durham Dragons for club affiliation. It was the club he has been with since high school but he has been training with Indiana University for the last 5 years and has just recently moved to Guelph to train and compete with Speed River. Good luck to him and the entire team!

It could be anything. The heat, the food, the travel, a head cold, an injury...until we hear specifics from someone in the know, we are only guessing. Quote comment -

No idea what happened to the two junior boys, but Julie-Anne had to be hospitalized an hour after finishing (disoriented and sick to her stomach). I'm guessing it was the heat, but I have no other details.

We had a couple of athletes (including CPT) struggle in the same way in Uganda a couple of years ago. It's bound to happen to at least a couple of people when going from mid-Canadian winter to the tropics. Hoping they are all back on their feet soon.
