SHE may be in record-breaking form but Brianne Theisen-Eaton is thinking only about titles, not points as she aims for Commonwealth Games gold in Glasgow.
The 25-year-old heptathlon World Championships silver medallist set a new Canadian record of 6,641 points in Gotzis in June where she finished second, and is looking to go one better when she lines up at the Games later this month.
As part of her preparations Theisen-Eaton is competing at the Sainsbury's Anniversary Games in London, racing over 100m on the 2012 Olympic track which has been moved from the Olympic Park to Horse Guards Parade.
"I'm really excited to be competing in this street meet because usually we're competing at track venues and so this meet kind of breaks up that mundane routine of going to a stadium, and I think it will add a little bit more excitement to the competition and bring something a little bit different," said Thiesen-Eaton, who finished 11th at the 2012 Games.
"My season has been going really well so far I did a heptathlon at the end of May in Austria, and it went very well, I got a PB, and I felt really strong during it.
"I've had about a month-and-a-half to prepare for my next heptathlon at the Commonwealth Games so I'm really excited for it.
"This meet is my second last meet its the tune up before the Commonwealth Games, as far as goals for that we don't have a points total, you go into every competition trying to win so that's my goal for the Commonwealth Games."
Thiesen-Eaton will be going up against home favourite Katarina Johnson-Thompson in Glasgow, but the Canadian indoor pentathlon record holder is confident the British crowds will help bring the best out of her.
"The British fans want the British athletes to do well but by cheering for everybody it makes the competition that much greater and the results better, and that's what I'm most excited for to use that crowd and that atmosphere to bring on good competition," she added.
