As part of the Canada Day celebrations at Craigflower Manor and the Gorge we will be hosting a small, fun mini competition. It is a fun event with bands, beer gardens and a happy, engaged crowd.
Space is limited so no hammers will be thrown. We WILL throw stones, weights, WOB, sheaf and caber. Scores WILL go up on CSAF and Heavy Athlete (or the new NASGA if that gets itself sorted out by July). Robert Awai has generously given up his spot throwing to judge so that these marks can count.
-Important Times and Dates:
-We start throwing July 1 at 8:30am. Athlete meeting at 8:00am.
-Set up is the night before, June 30th at 6pm.
-Take down happens after we finish throwing in the afternoon.
*There is no charge for this event but volunteer participation is expected from each thrower. You will be expected to help with set up the night before, take down day of...and marking, shagging, pulling tape and generally helping to keep this event running.*
Please bring:
-Your own lunch and snacks and refreshments. A cooler to put them in is also a great idea. There are no snacks provided this year and there is no break to go and acquire them.
-Room is limited but we can accommodate a few shade tents. Bring chairs or you'll be standing all day.
-Please wear a kilt and knee high socks. No athlete shirt is provided. Please bring your own shirt.
Given the space and time restraints: we will throw in two groups of up to 10.
*Please sign up early to avoid sorrow.*
