2026 Judo Alberta Canada Winter Games Fight Off Information

Judo Alberta Sanction: 2026-9

Location: Genesis Place, 800 East Lake Blvd NE, Airdrie, AB T4A 2K9

Date: Saturday September 19, 2026

Weigh-in: Friday September 18, 2026

Weigh in Location: 6:30PM to 7:00PM Hiros Dojo, Calgary, #115 1919 – 27th Avenue, Calgary, Alberta

Remote Weigh-ins:

6:30PM to 7:00PM Tokugawa Dojo, Edmonton, 9647 62nd Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta

6:30PM to 7:00PM Lethbridge Judo Club, Lethbridge, 2775, 28 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta

Note: There is no cost for the fight off

Fight-Off Start time: 11:30AM - Athletes will have access to the competition mat for warm-up starting at 10:30AM

Competition Format: The final CWG Selection Tournament will be round robin for divisions of five athletes and fewer. There will be two pools of three athletes with a semi-final & final for a division of six athletes. And there will be a modified double elimination for divisions with over six athletes.

If the number one seed wins the Judo Alberta Canada Winter Games Final Selection trial on September 19, 2026, they will be nominated to represent Team Alberta at the 2027 Canada Winter Games and the athlete that finishes second will be named as a reserve for that weight division. If the number one seed of the weight division loses in the Final Selection trial, they will be given a one match fight off with the winner of the trial at the end of the tournament. The winner of this match will represent Alberta at the 2027 Canada Winter Games, and the loser will be named as a reserve for that weight division.

Eligibility: Only athletes who are on the Judo Alberta Canada Winter Games Eligibility list will be able to register for the 2027 Judo Alberta Canada Winter Games Fight Off. Please see list below.

Male: 50kg / 55kg / 60kg / 66kg / 73kg / 81kg / Over 81kg
Female: 44kg / 48kg / 52kg / 57kg / 63kg / 70kg / Over 70kg

Rules:
 U18 IJF Rules will apply.
 White & blue judogis are mandatory.
 Athletes must choose their weight division when registering for the fight-off, weight divisions cannot be changed at weigh-in. If an athlete does not make the weight division, they cannot compete.
 The 0.2 allowance will be applied for weigh-ins.
