Officials Track & Field Clinic – Throwing Events

The NLAA invites former track and field athletes, as well as interested parents, to attend a free “Introduction to Officiating – Throwing Events” clinic.

This session will provide an overview of all four throwing events—Shot Put, Discus Throw, Hammer Throw, and Javelin Throw—and introduce participants to the key roles and responsibilities of officials.

Participants will learn basic competition rules and best practices for officiating throwing events. The clinic will begin with an indoor session, followed by a practical outdoor component.
Please dress comfortably for light activity and be prepared for outdoor conditions with a coat and appropriate footwear.

Parents of track and field athletes are especially encouraged to attend, as trained officials are essential to the success of meets. Officiating is a rewarding way to support athletes and help ensure fair and safe competition.
