The Hamburg Marathon, though often overshadowed by other Spring marathons, should be in consideration for anyone looking to run fast, and make a statement. It's where marathon world record holder, Eliud Kipchoge, made his debut back in 2013, Canadian Thomas Toth qualified for the world championships on that course, and it's often listed as one of the fastest races in the world. Just yesterday, it was announced that marathon veteran, and all time 3rd fastest Canadian, Reid Coolsaet and 2017 Canadian marathon Champion, Trevor Hofbauer would be running the event. Reid, coming of a tough couple of years that saw injuries, and results he wants to see bested, will be taking on the race coming down from an extended altitude stay with the whole family, and Trevor will be taking only his second shot at the marathon, after a very quiet 2018. We got them both on the line this week, and what you're about to hear is some candid chat about motives, mentors and just about everything you need to know about these two runners.
