Welcome to the BVPA Spring Tournament 2024 sign up page.
The Tournament will be held on March 9th and 10th.
There will be 2 locations for the event, Canmore Collegiate High School (2 courts) and the Canmore Rec Centre (2 Courts).
The pool play will be on Saturday between 9am- 5pm, with the Finals played Sunday between 9am- 1:30pm.
Tournament Format:
There will be an 8-person round robin per pool.
13 min games to 11, win by 2, cap at 13 points
Any game not finished and within a 3-point differential = a tie
Points awarded to players are as follows: Win = 2; Tie=1; Loss=0
Tie break = sum of +/- of each player for all games. Point +/- will be recorded per game as well as the running total.
If a rally is in progress when the timer goes, finish it and count that point; the ball must be served before it rings for that rally to be counted.
All divisions to be seeded by the Play Committee to determine which RR pool players will play in.
Playoff determination:
All qualifying rounds will determine the top 8 players in their division.
If there are 2 pools per division, the top 4 from each pool advance to Sunday's finals.
If there are 3 pools per division top 2 from each pool, then the next 2 based on points advance to Sunday's finals
Divisions are Novice, Intermediate and Advanced.
Finals Play:
Finals will be games to 11, win by 1, with no time limit. 1 point for a win and 0 points for a loss. The accumulative +/- will be kept in case of a tie. The total number of points from wins will be used to determine 1,2,3 place finishers.
There will be 3 pools in each of the Novice and Intermediate divisions and 2 pools in Advanced. A wait-list will be in place for each division.
Sign up to begin Feb. 20th and end Sat. Mar. 3. Seeding will take place by the play committee before March 6. Mike will set the schedule by Mar. 7 and e-mail all the players with their pool play times and locations.

The Social will take place on March 10 from 4:00-6:00 at the Legion. No pre registration is required for the Social – everyone is welcome! Just come on down and support your friends and share in their glory!
