Performance Coach Clinic Registration Information


Performance Coach training & certification is targeted to coaches who aspire to work in a year-round training environment with athletes competing at the U20 and senior national championships.

This context is event group focused. Coaches can choose from Combined Events, or Endurance, or Sprints/Hurdles.

Para athletics is integrated within each event group.

Coaches will develop and enhance their skills and knowledge in bio-mechanics, physiology, technical models, nutrition, planning, strength training, mental performance, safe sport, and coach self-care.

LTAD Stage: Train to compete, train to win

Performance Coach is a requirement for all national team applications, as well as for Canada Summer Games, and Sports Études/CÉGEPs/Universities in Quebec.

Location: Irving Oil Fieldhouse (129 McAllister Dr, Saint John, NB E2J 2S7)

NOTE: Please arrive 15 minute prior to the start of the course.

Learning Facilitators (LFs):

Endurance: Rich Lehman (NS, Dalhousie University Head Coach, NS Endurance Event Coach)

Throws: Kim Cousins (AB, former Athletics Canada Para-Throws Coach, team coach for multiple national teams, able bodied and para)

Jumps: Steve LeBlanc (NB, NB Director of High Performance, Head Coach Universite de Moncton, team coach for multiple national teams)

Learning facilitators may change depending on availability. Coaches can only register for one event group. Some sessions will involve all event groups, others will be divided.

What Else Do I Need To Do?

Note the following requirements BEFORE THE COURSE. Failure to do so will result in removal of the course

1. You must be NCCP Athletics Club Coach certified

2. 4 weeks before the course you must submit to the LF:

a. Yearly Training Plan (YTP) draft
