Kamloops, BC - The 2014 NACAC under-23 Championships begin tomorrow in Kamloops, B.C., with a team of 38 Canadian athletes who will be able to count on home crowd support. Of the 38, ten athletes will compete in their home province.

The three-day event takes place at Hillside Stadium with free admission for all to take in some of the best under-23 athletes in the world representing 31 countries.

At the last edition of the Championships, in 2012, Canadian athletes came away from Guanajuato, Mexico with 18 medals, Canada's highest total at this event.

Benjamin Thorne of Kitimat, B.C., and Jenna Westaway of Calgary, Alta., are the only Canadian team members to have represented Canada previously at a senior World Championship.

Thorne was part of the 2013 World Championships team where he finished 20th in the 20-kilometres race walk. He will represent all athletes in the opening ceremony by taking the athlete's oath.

Westaway represented Canada in the 800-metres at the 2014 World Indoor Championships.

Lets not forget Maria Bernard who represented Canada on the senior womens cross country team in the 2013 world cross country championships. She will be racing in the 3km steeplechase on saturday.

I sent an email to the race organization committee last week and I don't think they have a stream. If anything changes we'll certainly post the link. The Official Website of the meet is here as well: http://www.nacac2014.com

Apparently there will NOT be a way to watch the event - I asked if there was a way to stream the event on the Athletics Canada Facebook page.... The response was a very brief (and somewhat....curt....) " No."

Perhaps they don't want people to see that each event has no more than five entries?
