The meet program handout listed the Championship Records (as of Feb. 23, 2014). Why were these not listed in the final results and indicating new record(s) set ? Eg. women's 1500m was 4:19.36 by Debbie Scott (Vic) in 1981 - today's race broke that record by 4 seconds.

Well, it was a 34 year old record, so long overdue for being broken! And if you're a big fan of the flat track/banked track conversions (which I'm not), the new record is a .55 second improvement over the old record, which was 4:19.96 (converts to 4:17.39). I thought Inglis looked great! She just needs to get a coach ... just kidding, Bomber!

    Ronny,

I take great pride to just sssociated with someone who broke such a great record from such an accomplished athlete. My group will be hearing more war stories of the great Debbie Scott over the next while.

cole peterson ran like a champ in that 1500. to come back from that wicked face plant to take off on the field (albeit a little early) 200m later was pretty awesome to see

Trinity Western women dominated the team race, holy moly. Some crazy performances by them. Trinity vs Toronto for the CIS banner?

Men's team race had the rankings reasonably tight with Trinity and Victoria at the top and Manitoba and Calgary right behind. I wonder how much Victoria and Trinity running on super fast tracks effected rankings; yes they were converted down.... but most of the other Canwest teams had their best performances at Bison Classic which was also converted down but is definitely slower then Seattle.

Regardless of how the the rankings "predicted" the out come, Calgary dominated the last day on the track, enough to hold of Manitoba who really owned the field events. As they would say, just a bunch of nice guys who work hard and love the game.

It was nice to see him win a race fairly, and not need his teammates to assault the competition, so he could gain a lead.

How does she not have competition?? Obviously not as much in canwest with basically just the Uvic girls. But, the OUA provides tons of competition for her.

Aside from the CIS season, which is over within the next 10 days, Sarah will find plenty of good competition when it counts, in the outdoor track season.

Bomba, you are way too young to be able to tell good war stories of the great Debbie Scott (Bowker) in CIS competition. I remember watching her in 1980/1981 dominating the competition.

I noticed Riva didn't run the 1500m at Canada West. It will be interesting to see him run against the Guelph guys at CIS.
