I would have appreciated if the commentators did some homework and knew the rules of the events and studied the athletes prior.
There was more false information given than correct.

we are but two humble alums who received the entries list two days ago. That's about 300 athletes. We spent about 6 hours making spreadsheets with PBs/SBs. we're also forced to bounce around events constantly due to there being only one camera, so it is hard to keep up with who is up to jump/throw and when, never mind flawlessly rattle off their achievements. We will strive to be more cognizant of event rules (I assume you are referring to field events) tomorrow.

It's a fairly hefty task, so with your patience we will get better. I realize we've many areas to improve on.

    It ain't easy bein cheezy.

Second this. Commentators are terrible. And we have to pay for this stream while other conferences probably don't. Great..

I think there is a lot to unwrap in the issues being brought up here. It is indeed ridiculous to have to pay for a live stream, but unfortunately that is how things work in the west, particularly in Manitoba. I agree that one expects a quality product when one has to pay for it (although I am not agreeing here that the live stream is not of a good quality), yet I doubt the issue of having to pay for the live stream is really much connected to how Canwest itself is being run due to the huge dependence of the event on volunteers. Despite what people may think from the shiny resurfaced track about which the U of M likes to boast, track and field here takes a back seat to pretty much everything else (much like it does in other parts of the country). Athletes, despite having “exclusive use” time slots, get kicked out of the building when rhythmic gymnastics organizers decide they want to hold a meet, or when a space for a science fair is needed, or when room is needed for people to put their coats when the prime minister comes to town (yes, a place to put coats). I am sure that for many of you reading this, I am preaching to the choir, so you should understand what I am getting at. The point I’m making is that volunteers, coaches, and athletes at the U of M and in the west in general (I’m not saying this is a problem exclusive to the west) are at odds against administers who call the shots and, correct me if I’m wrong, say where money from things like live streams ends up. The U of M in particular, in seems, will bow to anyone who waves money in its face, yet too many administrators here suppress the potential of track and field in this province by providing little support for the sport or incentive for volunteers. The commentators are doing the best with what they have been given. Let’s give them some credit, they are great people trying to give back. Instead of criticizing them for trying, I’d encourage people to question where the money from live streams actually goes. We athletes, volunteers, and coaches are in this together. Let’s support and encourage one another instead of blaming each other; let’s save the criticisms for the people and systems actually oppressing the sport, not those working to make it better.

Man the commentary is awesome, this is one the best Canadian T+F stream I've ever watched. Lighten up a bit, the CIS is not the NCAA, and two random Winnipegers aren't Ryan from Flotrack, nor should we expect them to be.

Shame. Guy has amazing form. Watched him in the heats and looked like he was just jogging to the finish after hurdle 3 or 4. Didn't really expect him to run as well as he did in the heat.

Was absolutely amazing watching UManitoba continue to establish itself as a short middle distance/long sprint powerhouse. Excited to see what these boys can do in Windsor and in 2019.

I would like to unsecond you. All around, I thought the commentators were great. I expected some humour for my $10, next year I'll be coming back not for the race, but the commentators. I came here two weeks late because I had a dream about the commentators, and needed to share it, then I see these hateful unjust words. I am offended for the commentators. I happen to know that SportsCentre have been scouting these gents for years. Keep it up boys. Full send in 2018!
