Athletics Manitoba is once again pleased to present our annual awards at this years Awards Gala on November 20th at the Hilton Winnipeg Airport Suites.
There will be no Age Category or Event Category Nominations. All finalists in those award categories have been identified through thorough data collection from the 2025 Cross Country and 2025/2026 Indoor and 2026 Outdoor seasons. The exception is the Masters age category - where we are now accepting nominations. All performances must have been achieved between September 1, 2025 and August 31, 2026.
You can submit multiple nominations for different people!
Nominations are now open for the following awards:
Athlete Awards:
- Masters Athlete of the Year (Male & Female)
- Most Improved (Male and Female athletes who have made substantial improvements in their performances from one year to the next). Please note, athletes being nominated in this category must be minimally U18 or above.
- Ron Melnichuk Award (Male and Female athletes who have shown exceptional results in multiple disciplines in the DISTANCE event group, i.e, Track, Road, Trail, etc.).
Volunteer Awards:
- Volunteer of the Year
Coach Awards:
- Coach to Watch (An up-and-coming coach who shows a great amount of potential)
- Elite Coach of the Year (A coach whose athletes have achieved outstanding performances nationally or internationally)
Officiating Awards:
- Marie Burgess Spirit Award (A Level 1 or 2 Official who shows enthusiasm and great promise as an up-and-coming official).
- Official of the Year
In an effort to capture our members' achievements, we strongly encourage coaches, club administrators, parents, and athletes to submit nominations here to best advise Athletics Manitoba on achievements between September 1, 2025 and August 31, 2026.
Athletics Manitoba staff will be verifying the information submitted in each nomination.
Please take time to fill out the questions properly!!
Nominations close on September 20th at midnight. Please note, absolutely NO late nominations will be accepted.

Finalists will be notified in October - and we encourage everyone to purchase tickets to the Gala as soon as they become available!
