VIKS Karate Zone 6 is hosting the Kumite Development Camp for athletes, officials and coaches on Sunday, September 27 at Shima Karate in Nanaimo.
The camp's purpose is to provide a beneficial kumite pre-competition season warm-up event for Island athletes, officials and coaches.
Zone 6 Island club athletes are encouraged to register with their club friends so that everyone can benefit from having more training partners from various clubs.
ATHLETES: 11-1pm Kumite Seminar and 2-4pm Kumite Practice Matches
This page's Trackie registration is only for athletes participating in the 11am to 1pm Kumite Seminar with guest coach Fernando Aguilera, and as a bonus the athletes may also participate from 2-4pm in kumite practice matches (number of matches is based on who attends), supervised by Zone 6.
Fee $50.
OFFICIALS: 11-1pm Referee Workshop and 2-4pm Kumite Practice Matches
There is also be an Officials Kumite Referee Practice Seminar from 11am-1pm at Shima, and the Trackie registration is separate: it will be listed on the Karate BC event page, and here, when ready. The officials are encouraged to remain from 2-4pm to practice their kumite referee and corner judge skills for the athlete's practice matches.
There is no fee participation for officials.
CLUB COACHES
Club coaches may observe the kumite seminar and coach during the practice matches.
There is no fee for coaches.
If a club coach would like to train during the kumite seminar, please also register here as an athlete.
